Frequently asked questions
Know what to expect.
Straightforward answers about equipment, installation and service coverage.
How much does a four-camera installation cost?
Many standard four-camera installations fall around $550–$900 CAD for labour. This is a planning range, not a fixed quote. Equipment, cable, conduit, route difficulty, height and special materials are reviewed separately.
Do you install customer-supplied security cameras?
Yes. We can assess compatible customer-supplied equipment and quote the installation, cabling, configuration and testing separately.
Do you install wired and wireless cameras?
Yes. We work with wired PoE, Wi-Fi and selected battery-powered systems. The right option depends on recording needs, signal coverage and available cable routes.
Can I view my cameras from my phone?
Most modern systems support remote viewing. We can connect the recorder or cameras, configure the manufacturer’s app and walk you through everyday use.
How long does installation take?
Timing depends on camera count, mounting locations, cable access and property type. A small installation may be completed in one visit; larger systems require additional planning.
Can security-camera wiring be hidden?
Often yes, when attic, basement, soffit or wall access provides a practical pathway. If a concealed route is not available, we explain neat exterior or conduit options before work begins.
Do you repair or upgrade existing CCTV systems?
Yes. We can inspect compatible NVR, DVR, camera, cabling and network components and recommend repair, replacement or a staged upgrade.
Do you install Ring, Nest and Lorex video doorbells?
Yes. We install common wired and wireless video doorbells, subject to suitable power, wiring, Wi-Fi and mounting conditions.
Does an alarm system require monthly monitoring?
Not always. Some compatible systems can operate as local or self-monitored alarms, while professional monitoring is available for supported equipment. We explain the options before selection.
Why does access control require a site visit?
Door construction, lock hardware, power, cable routes, safe egress and credential requirements affect the design. These conditions should be reviewed before a firm quote.
Do you install Cat6 network cabling?
Yes. We install, terminate, label and test Cat6 and other agreed low-voltage cabling for cameras, access points, workstations and small network racks.
