This guide is based on the installation conditions Zentro reviews across homes and small businesses in the Greater Toronto Area. Final recommendations depend on the property and equipment.
A realistic labour planning range
Many standard four-camera installations fall around $550–$900 CAD for labour. Equipment, cable, conduit and special materials are separate. The final written quote depends on mounting locations, route length, finished spaces, height and required access equipment.
What changes the price?
Camera count, cable length, mounting height, construction type, attic or basement access, conduit, recorder requirements and remote-viewing setup all affect the final scope. A bungalow with open basement access is different from a multi-level finished property with no practical concealed pathway.
Equipment and labour should be separated
A useful quote should show what equipment you are buying and what installation work is included. Confirm camera resolution, lens, night performance, storage capacity, warranty, mobile setup, cable type and final testing before comparing two totals.
Customer-supplied systems
If you already own a Lorex, Hikvision, Uniview, Dahua, Night Owl or other compatible system, installation can be quoted separately. Compatibility, missing parts and recorder condition should be checked before the work date.
How to get an accurate quote
Send the property type, approximate camera locations, photos of the exterior and network or recorder area, and the equipment model if already purchased. An on-site assessment is best when cable routes, height or coverage are uncertain.
